Hi, I'm Heather

Welcome to my portfolio, where I invite you to explore my journey into the world of Early Childhood Education.

In these pages, you'll discover my passion for art, theater, and lifelong learning, all of which I eagerly bring into my role as an educator. With four children of my own, I understand the challenges and joys of raising a family firsthand, fueling my dedication to both my personal and professional growth.

As an educator, my goal is to create a nurturing environment where children feel safe and supported to explore and learn. By fostering meaningful connections and building a strong community, I aim to be a valuable resource for both children and their families throughout their educational journey.

Thank you for joining me as I strive to make a positive impact in the lives of young learners and their communities through Early Childhood Education.

About Me

Hello!

Here you will find out a bit more about me. I'm Heather Roscoe a Registered Early Childhood Educator and an Independent Home Childcare Provider. Beyond those roles, I proudly wear many hats which have shaped the person I am and hope to become.

There are many things to write about when you are sharing your story, where you grew up , where your parents are from, what school you attend, and have travelled to many places, Where you met your spouse, and so much more.

Although I would love to spend days writing about myself, I would like to give you the highlights of who I am.

I am a proud mother to four active children, a wife and a pet owner. Currently, we have a school of fish, a turtle, a dog, 2 kittens and two guinea pigs. My ultimate dream would be to have a hobby farm with more animals!

Within these roles and my responsibilities as a Home Childcare Provider, I find my sense of purpose which shapes my approach to life and work. My recent late diagnosis with ADHD has shown me that with every challenge I face, I can adapt and persevere. I take on each path in life with determination and to create meaningful educational experiences.

I often try to find time to work on crafts, reading a good book or trying to expand my learning on topics relevant to my life and work. I always strive to learn from every path and experience in life to pursue personal and professional growth.

Personal Statement

Exploring the Question of Why: My Journey into Early Childhood Education

There have been times in my life where I have been asked the question of why? Why do I want to go here or there? Why do I want to try this or that, why would you want to work in Early Childhood Education, when you're a mother to four? There is an answer for every question when you take the time to consider the reason it is being asked. Why do I want to pursue a career in Early Childhood Education?

The answer is simple, I have always known it. I have always wanted to work with children and their families, I want to be a support, a role model and someone who works and helps within their community. As a young child, I often found myself playing teacher or mother, all roles I see now as fundamental supports in the lives of children.

My own children drive me to be the person I want to be. To show them that at any age it is possible to achieve your dream, that your path may not be straight and direct. That life is about the turns and detours, making sure you take with you any knowledge or skills you have learned along the way. That it is okay to change your mind, and then change it back again. My hope is always that I will be an example of a contributing member of our community.

By serving in my community as an Educator, I can share my passions and knowledge with others.
